Yesterday I visited the brand new Bowtox Boutique Med Spa location in Lakewood Ranch for my cheek filler procedure. I have had cheek filler in Sarasota in the past, but this was my first experience at the office on Lake Osprey drive. It is absolutely beautiful. The waiting room is modern and spotless and the ladies in the office are so sweet and extremely knowledgeable in each of their roles.
You may be wondering what to expect if you've never had injections, so let me give you a little more detail! The injector I worked with yesterday was Aleena Gurskiy, APRN, Nurse Practitioner, and Aesthetic Injector. Aleena is very personable, professional, and she made sure I was at ease and knew what to expect before, during and after the procedure.
First, she did a consultation for me by assessing which product to use, where to place it and she made a recommendation for how much I may need. From there she walked me through the procedure, applied the numbing cream to my cheeks and, went to grab the 2 syringes of Restylane Lyft. We decided on one syringe per cheek.
The injection process is fairly quick. Aleena made about 5 to 6 small injections along each cheek, checking multiple times to make sure they were perfectly symmetrical. While the process is slightly uncomfortable, it's nowhere near as painful as lip injections. I would liken the pain level to a pinch that stings for a moment, maybe a 2-3 on the pain level scale.
Before I knew it, we were all done and she cleaned the area and applied Arnica cream to prevent bruising. She gave me an ice pack to help with the swelling and I was good to go! I can't recommend the Bowtox Boutique enough. They are definitely my go-to Med Spa for Cheek Filler in Sarasota.
Check out my awesome before and after! I love the subtle cheek pop that adds a more sculpted look to my face. The aftercare was pretty simple, I was a bit sore yesterday so I took some Aleve and just kept icing my cheeks. Today they are feeling much better. The full swelling will be gone in two weeks!
